There is no frredom in panorama in Greece, confer COM:FOP Greece. The sculpture has been created by Giogros “George” Zongolopoulos who died in 2004. Hence his artwork is not free until 2075.

Okładka jest ocenzurowana, co sprawia wrażenie, że postać mogłaby "hajlować". W rzeczywistości na okładce widać kobietę która miesza jakąś bardzo dużą łyżką. AkaruiHikari (talk) 06:12, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep I don't see any need to change anything.
The original version is available from CBN Polona under the Public Domain license: " Copyright: Public Domain. You may copy, change, distribute, and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, without having to ask for permission. " .
If the original version is in the public domain, then its derivative (made by me) is also in the public domain, and my potential contribution is available under the CC-3.0 or cc-4.0 license.
The excessive accusation of copyright infringement is therefore unfounded. Wieralee (talk) 15:23, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Olksolo (talk) 19:51, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The statue "Monumento alla lotta contadina (Giuseppe Novello)" is recent, dating 1991-05-12, and there is no FoP in Italy. It might be a work for hire for the city council of Montescaglioso, then it would be PD 20 years after creation. Ruthven (msg) 09:30, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

79.241.36.133 11:57, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The National Gallery of Art uploaded this image as part of its contribution to Wikimedia Commons in 2019. Since then, it has come to the Gallery's attention that this image, while out of copyright, has complex relationships with Native American tribal rights and traditions. The Gallery has taken this image down from its website as it works with Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs) to ensure that it respects Native American culture and agency. It asks, in the spirit of respecting indigenous traditions and belief, that this image be deleted until the Gallery has received approval and guidance from the THPOs on its reproduction. Kept: no valid reason for deletion. --Andrei Romanenko (talk) 22:46, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The National Gallery of Art, the uploader of the image, requests a courtesy deletion of an image that it uploaded more than 30 days ago by mistake in light of new information that has come to our (the uploader’s) attention that weighs in favor of courtesy deletion. The image does not appear to be used to illustrate any Wikipedia article on the subject. Namely: (1) The image provider has since learned that the copyright term in the artwork depicted in the image likely has not yet expired and, therefore, the image likely still remains under copyright. Moreover, the image provider is not the copyright owner and lacks permission to authorize others to use the image. (2) The artwork depicted in the image is of cultural sensitivity to the officially recognized Native American tribe (Pueblo of Jemez), whose Tribal Historic Preservation Officer (THPO) has asked us to: (a) take down the image from all of our own platforms, which we have done, and (b) ask all platforms to whom we have provided the image to also please delete the image. In both cases, the deletion is requested on cultural heritage grounds, consistent with the Creative Commons guidelines that Wikimedia itself observes. Creative Commons has advised that tribal images, such as this one, should not be eligible for CC0 status. See, Towards Better Sharing of Cultural Heritage - An Agenda for Copyright Reform: A Creative Commons Policy Paper [2022-02-09], p. 20. (3) Since learning the above information, the image provider now believes it provided the image to Wikimedia by mistake. Moreover, it further appears that the image could be deleted without significant loss to the overall educational holdings of Wikimedia Commons. The image does not appear in any of the articles or of galleries for either the main Wikipedia article on Jemez Pueblo or the associated pages, including a page on the people and culture of Jemez Pueblo, even though those pages are rich with historical and cultural images and associated image galleries. In fact, one such gallery appears to contain an image of the same subject but “of greater equal or greater” overall educational value and that is currently in the public domain. Thank you. An Indexer (talk) 17:39, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A public-domain image on the same subject of ‘equal or greater’ educational value is already in use on Wikipedia at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pueblo_Revolt#/media/File:Kachina_dolls.jpg. The image is used to illustrate Wikipedia’s article on the Pueblo Revolt of 1860: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pueblo_Revolt An Indexer (talk) 18:34, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would tend to oppose a courtesy deletion of a useful image. However, copyright could be an issue. An Indexer, please explain why this image is not likely to be in the public domain. When did Patricio Toya die? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:05, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adds nothing. Normally this audio clip should be used in a context that introduces it as "the pronunciation of fête in a Quebecois accent" or something like that. — W.andrea (talk) 20:18, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This photo was taken someday after 2005, when DK3G was retired from Batong Line, not in 1971 as described, so it's not in public domain yet. Gcycaas (talk) 21:25, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This file was initially tagged by Geof Sheppard as Copyvio (copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: The date is obviously wrong but this postcard could not have been published before 1948 as it depicts a British Railways locomotive. It is therefore not in the public domain in either UK (70 years from publication) or USA (95 years if not published in USA). Note that Mark Crombie is the original uploader of the copy, not the author of the original work. Yann (talk) 21:30, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
