et.wikipedia templates for CommonsHelper

I can see that CommonsHelper recognizes some sr.wikipedia templates that were requested earlier. CommonsHelper recognizing following et.wikipedia template associations too would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

... so that images on etwiki with these licenses wouldn't result in "This image has no verificable good license, and can thus not be uploaded to commons through this tool." message. Any chanace? Pikne 09:53, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Way to find files uploades using Flickr2Commons by user

Hello Magnus, I wonder if there is a way to have a list of images uploaded to Commons using Flickr2Commons by a specific user. I mean, something like Special:ListFiles/File Upload Bot (Magnus Manske) but with a filter, like uploads requested by me (UAwiki) using Flickr2Commons. Or maybe that would be another of the Magnus' toys ;) Greets and thanks for that useful tool. --UAwiki (talk) 22:45, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

No real good way I can think of. The upload bot will add a link to that user, so links to that user page will include the once you want, but probably a few more...--Magnus Manske (talk) 21:49, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Firstly, Magnus, great tool, well done in making it available. UAwiki, I simply add my own user category to all uploads with f2c. Someone like User:Fae might be able to run a script which can scour your uploads with f2c and put them into a user category, if that is what you require? russavia (talk) 22:06, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your answers Magnus and Russavia, and I guess I could add those images into a user category, but it's not really necessary at this moment, I was just curious, but thanks for the tip about a script made by Fae and I think Special:WhatLinksHere is good enough for what I'm looking for, I had not thought about that before hehe.

Dann erscheint ein großer blauer Knopf "Edit to activate your account". Draufklicken, die Bearbeitung speichern. Den Commons-Tab schließen. TUSC-Seite sagt jetzt "Account successfully created!".

Credited uploaders in a list?

Greetings, Magnus Manske. User:Farhikht uploaded several images (e.g.) using your bot, and your bot duly credited him. But since he never edited the image, it doesn't show up in his contributions. Is there any automated way to get a list of all the files uploaded (with FUB) by a particular user? – Quadell (talk) 17:59, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

There is, but only with direct database access or excessive API usage, and only if the user link was not removed. Look at all the pages from file namespace that link to the user page. A direct database query gives:
File:Javad_alizadeh.jpg, File:Javad_alizadeh_surreal-Surreal_suicide.jpg, File:Javad_alizadeh_divorce-child.jpg, File:Javad_alizadeh_hedayat-iranian-black-novelist.jpg, File:Signature_of_javad_alizadeh.JPG, File:Javad_alizadeh_-penetrating-pen.jpg, File:Javad_alizadeh_ocean-of-sorrow-.jpg --Magnus Manske (talk) 21:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
That'll do, thanks. – Quadell (talk) 11:30, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Add information tool forces insecure http protocol

Hi Magnus. A favour to ask. When the "add information tool" is used now, whether it be used from http or https connection, since it has moved to wmflabs, it now forces an http processing; even seems that way when run directly at labs. Would it be possible to have the tool running in the "arriving" protocol rather than forced to an insecure login (or not logged in) for those of operating in https?

Also the tool at Commons pushes to https://toolserver.org/~magnus/add_information.php?image=Plant_material_at_pharmacopoeia_market_in_Guangzhou.jpg should this be updated within the gadget to the new url?

Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:34, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Question

Did you take the pictures of those Borussia players yourself or do you know a website that have pictures of the players in public domain? --TheShadowCrow (talk) 02:53, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

I did not take any pictures of Borussia players. Please check if they were not merely uploaded using my tool, in which case I have noting else to do with them. --Magnus Manske (talk) 14:06, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Transfered from Flickr. to Wikimedia

Feld „Anmerkungen“ fällt beim Dateitransfer untern Tisch

-- Olaf Studt (talk) 08:55, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Changing a pic on wikimedia commons

I know you probably didn't upload this pic: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Burning_Man_2012_(7941237278).jpg , but I was wondering what is the best way to identify the guy in it. It is John Styn.

The Description says "John Styn", and Source has a link to the original image, and Author has a link to the guy who took the image. A Google search for John Styn and Burning Man yields this. Looks legit. --Magnus Manske (talk) 14:43, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 05:13, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Problems with Geograph-to-Commons tool

I am trying out the new Geograph-to-Commons tool: http://tools.wmflabs.org/geograph2commons/

For some photos, it doesn't work. It seems to be photos without a high resolution version, ie only available in 640x480 or less. For these, it just uploads the Geograph "Sorry, image not available" image. Example File:Spey at Spey Bridge (geograph 2065352).jpg. Or older version here (I fixed this by manually uploading the correct photo): File:The Old Spey Bridge (geograph 1870340).jpg

It seems to be working fine with higher resolution images. Thanks. --Vclaw (talk) 21:48, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Sum-it-up and WhatIsThat?

Hi Magnus, thanks for porting Sum-it-up and WhatIsThat? to the new server. I opened a few conversations at Commons:Village pump related to the tools. Best! --Codrin.B (talk) 08:52, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Sorting by language code in WhatIsThat?

Hi Magnus. I see the new WhatIsThat tool doesn't sort by language code as I believe is used to do. See an example here. It would be very useful to have the languages sorted, so the descriptions could be easily added to an image, without massaging. Thanks.--Codrin.B (talk) 08:59, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Speed of WhatIsThat?

I remember that the DieBuche's version of WhatIsThat? got some speed improvements when it was forked(?). I saw a conversation somewhere but can't find it at the moment. But during my usage of both tools, I noticed that his version is faster. For example WLANL - koopmanrob - Helm.jpg with DieBuche's WhatIsThat? vs WLANL - koopmanrob - Helm.jpg with WFMLabs' WhatIsThat?. However, DieBuche's version doesn't return all descriptions many times. For example: Elephant safari.jpg with DieBuche's WhatIsThat? vs Elephant safari.jpg with WFMLabs' WhatIsThat? So what I am trying to ask is - can the speed improvements done by DieBuche be ported to the WMFLabs' version of WhatIsThat?, effectively merging the two? I don't see the need for forks.--Codrin.B (talk) 09:30, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Bug with Original upload date

Why is the date given as |Datum = 1879-12-31 considered as {{Original upload date|1879-12-31}}? The file was originally uploaded to de.wikipedia in June 2011. --Leyo 09:08, 21 September 2012

This bug, which falsifies facts, is always occurring if the date in the source project is given in YYYY-MM-DD (another example). --Leyo 10:33, 14 January 2013

Bot flag

Please mark "File Upload Bot (Magnus Manske)" as a bot, so that its edits can be ignored from watchlists with the "Hide bots" option. Bomazi (talk) 15:24, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

I can't; literally, the software does not allow me to change the flag. Maybe just request it on Commons:Bots/Requests? I think it was listed there before, but not flagged as bot because it never does things unsupervised; all its actions are one-to-one just a "placeholder" for human action. Note that some tools may break when the bot flag is set, and I'll have to go around fix them. --Magnus Manske (talk) 21:55, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

aerial view of Monreale cloister

Hello.

Could I please ask permission to use your aerial photograph of the Monreale cloister in my book on Norman Sicily? It gives an excellent over-all view which is impossible to provide with words alone, and I like that it shows the mini-cloister in the corner.

Thank you very much. Nancy

Hi Nancy, I have never taken such a picture, even if you had bothered to tell me which one you talk about (URL, file name?). Please check the image description page and look for "Author". That said, if the picture is here on Commons, it means you can freely use it under the conditions of the given license, also to be found on the image description page; you do not require additional permission. --Magnus Manske (talk) 21:35, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Commons Commander

"Quality images by Ralf Roletschek/Schweden".

I tried uploading images from flickr and i kept getting the same error: Transfer failed : 500 Internal Server Error

The Files are aptly licenced its just your bot refuses to upload them, uploading 36 MANUALLY is time consuming, can you figure out whats wrong?...it looks like to me the links are broken, i.e the first image links to http://www.flickr.com/photos/undefined/10242932244 instead of http://www.flickr.com/photos/fearless_fred/10242932244.....please fix it....there is no alternate for "mass upload from flickr"...--Stemoc (talk) 03:45, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

--Magnus Manske (talk) 14:50, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Category: Macroglossum stellatarum

A number of images were uploaded by this bot to category:Macroglossum stellatarum by mistake. The hummingbird moths of North America belong to the genus Hemaris. They are too many to move them one by one. The so called hummingbird hawkmoth of Europe, Asia and Africa is Macroglossum stellatarum. But the hummingbird moth of North America is a different species in a different genus.--Polinizador (talk) 14:41, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Magnus, would it be possible for you to upload a cropped, blown-up version of this picture with the old tree (with the round hole) in the middle? I would like to have it for my collection of Harry Potter film locations. Your's is the only photo of Blenheim with this particular tree --Judithcomm (talk) 21:12, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

What's the problem with cropping it yourself? It's under a free license, you know ;-) --Magnus Manske (talk) 11:24, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Two problems: 1. I tried cropping, but the resulting picture was very vague. So I thought, maybe you have a higher resolution original to work with. 2. I wasn't sure how to document the license: who would be 'author', for instance, you or me? But the first reason is the most important --Judithcomm (talk) 14:43, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Did it anyway. See http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Snape-tree-Blenheim_Palace_IMG_3687.jpg. Please correct the license info if you disagree --Judithcomm (talk) 21:04, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
File:Les bancs verts (4166150246).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Pay attention to copyright
File:Kanakprabhaji.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Image of a status

Your bot uploaded the File:Ba anh em nhà họ Nhạc.JPG. So, it's fine to upload of picture taken of a statue from a public place. There is a Hung king worship place in Pleiku, where there are statues of 18 Hung kings. Could you upload them or ask anyone else to do so? ༆ (talk) 05:25, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Happy Holidays!
G'day, just a quick greeting wishing you and your family happy holidays and all the best for 2014. And of course, a big thank you for putting a leg up by doing what you do on Commons, and helping to make it the fantastic project that it is. Boston Bruins Bilder

Hallo. Hi Magnus, when I first read about your new tool in summer I was very pleased. I figured it would become so easy for me to show the impact of collaboration with Wikimedia Commons to hesitating GLAM institutions. A few months later: I have tried different ways in order to find out how the tool works. But as I tried the tool I wonder if it would be helpful to add an FAQ to the tool. For instance, why does the tool not show the usage of images within the category of a certain institution even though I know that the images were used. Example: images from Deutsches Luft und Raumfahrtzentrum (DLR) & https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:AlSat.jpg being used here: https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disaster_Monitoring_Constellation. How do I have to enter the category in order to get good results? An other example: I entered "Deutsches Archäologisches Institut" (DAI), one of our GLAM partners, and got an amazing output, but many of the records shown do not derive from the DAI. Example: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Johann_Jacob_Bachofen.jpg . I am sure that with some instruction it would be easier to use the tool. Or am I simply to blind to find the instructions? thanks for Your advice--Barbara Fischer (WMDE) (talk) 14:09, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

CommonsHelper Upload

--Magnus Manske (talk) 23:37, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

File upload bot and catwegories

Hey Magnus. The File Upload bot sometimes adds wrong categories eg File:China 50 Cash, first half 19th c. (3543703236).jpg. It was in categories such as Category:Commons, Category:Home, Category:Wikipedia etc. Can the bot be set up to strip certain categories? Alan Liefting (talk) 20:32, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

That is an option that can be set by the user operating the bot. --Magnus Manske (talk) 23:26, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi Magnus, I see you migrated the geohack tools to tool-labs. In there, there is also a region.php, which I need for the migrated locator-tool ( http://tools.wmflabs.org/locator/coordinates.php ) to automatically set region. Dispenser helped me with that one, and on toolserver I used ~para/region.php. I call it with the variable tsv. The version on tool labs in the geohack-dir doesn't seem to work, is that something that you can look into to get working? Akoopal (talk) 22:18, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

AFAIK, the ~para/region.php would be the one to use (not sure if the "local" one is identical), but it depends on a database, of which I do not have a copy. --Magnus Manske (talk) 17:03, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
That is indeed the one I used on toolserver. Unfortunately probably some security restrictions prevent me from calling it from tool labs. Akoopal (talk) 17:35, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

De-adminship warning

This talk page in other languages:

Dear Magnus Manske/Archive 10, I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section/Feb-Mar 2014 within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship.

Erwin's tools.

Hi Magnus, I see you also migrated some of Erwin's tools. Would you be willing to also look into related changes? It is one I used a lot to keep an eye on changes in the category of the articles I am interested in. Akoopal (talk) 22:44, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Another request related to the terminator tool.

Would it be possible to get a "Top X linked properties with missing labels in ..."? They are of coure a lot fewer of them than the items but on the other hand getting them translated is more important.

Cheers, Lokal_Profil 15:00, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

i would like to upload an image for the on and i only wish you the best of luck in your line of work

Category:Friedrich Fleischmann

Hi, An image that you transferred to Commons File:Friedrich Fleischmann.jpg is of the composer and is incorrectly being used to illustrate the infobox of the engraver. Could you replace it with File:Friedrich Fleischmann02.jpg which is a self-portrait of the engraver. Thank you Paul venter (talk) 14:43, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Baglama addition

Hi Magnus. Just wondering if you could add Category:Images from the Nationalmuseum Stockholm to the Baglama tool. It doesn't have that many images right now but the museum staff need the stats to sell the idea of larger uploads in the future to their higher-ups. Also unsure If you wanted the request here or on Jira since its technically no longer a toolserver tool.

Done. January job still running, probably into March :-( --Magnus Manske (talk) 16:46, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

flickr2commons & sequential file renaming

Hi,

I've just tried to use flickr2commons to upload a big set of photos. I can't do so, because all the files are named in series with "_DSC9641", which is obviously not acceptable to Commons. Please will you consider adding a sequential numbering option, so I can name the first file Foobar 01.jpg, and have the next automatically uploaded as Foobar 02.jpg, then Foobar 03.jpg and so on; like Commons' own upload wizard? cheers, Andy Mabbett (talk) 18:25, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

You can click on "prefix selected names". That will keep the _DSC, but put the same string in front of each. That should bypass the Commons name filter, keep the original file name in there, and still add a "group" name. --Magnus Manske (talk) 18:29, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Thank you; that's a work-around, but I prefer to name files in series, like File:View from One Euston Square - 11 December 2013 - 07.JPG.

Flickr2commons null issue

I'm one of those affected by "transfer failed [1: null"] message. I've tried different browsers, caching, revoking OAuth; none of these seems to matter. The last time it failed I captured detailed HTTP headers from the failure. Would those be useful in debugging? I don't want to post them publicly because of the token secret but I could email them (or if the tokens don't matter I can just remove those parts). Best, Mackensen (talk) 00:07, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, but that would just be the headers for the call to my upload tool, which works AFAICT; it's the subsequent upload by that tool that barfs. Thanks anyway. --Magnus Manske (talk) 11:00, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

New cc4.0 License templates from de.wp to commons:

  • de.wp: {{Bild-CC-by/4.0}} to commons: {{Cc-by-4.0}}
  • de.wp: {{Bild-CC-by-sa/4.0}} to commons: {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}}

Mit Dank,--Wdwd (talk) 09:15, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Sollte erledigt sein. --Magnus Manske (talk) 14:54, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Danke, funkt.--Wdwd (talk) 18:38, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Könntest du bitte zumindest {{int:license}}{{int:license-header}} zeitnah umsetzen?

importScript('MediaWiki:Commander.js');

in Deine common.js eintragen.

OMG, screaming, horror, panic

I see that you've decided to do away with TUSC for your tool. Well, er, User:OgreBot still uses TUSC. Are you ever sunsetting TUSC?

(Strangely enough, I was able to code around the upload problems in Peachy pretty easily)

Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 20:23, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

I'll keep TUSC running, some of my tools still use it too. If I ever turn it off, I'll check the logs first to ensure no one is using anymore. --Magnus Manske (talk) 20:18, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

CommonsHelper-Verbesserung

--Magnus Manske (talk) 20:40, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Some suggestions for f2c

hey mate, i am a heavy user of f2c and regular upload streams consisting of thousands of images, Category:Files from Korea.net Flickr stream being one of my most recent examples. Some issues I've come across in my time that I hope you can come up with fixes for.

  1. If the file name consists of / | # the upload fails. You can use this small set as an example to try out. Is there some way that if a file has one of these characters in it, it can automatically be replaced with, say, a comma (-)? I have some extremely large streams to upload of highly valued photos, but using f2c would be impossible due to this issue.
  2. If the file name has double spaces in it, this also fails. Is there some way of eliminating double spaces?

If you could let me know, that would be great, and I'll get other minor issues to you as well. Cheers, russavia (talk) 22:39, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

You can use JavaScript to do this. After loading the files into F2C, open your browser's JavaScript console and let it evaluate the following:
var list = document.getElementsByClassName("newtitle"); for(var i=0;i<list.length;i++) { list[i].value=list[i].value.replace(/\|/g, "-"); }
This replaced all "|" with "-" in your example set for me. Of course that shouldn't prevent Magnus Manske from implementing an automatic solution, but it does work. darkweasel94 22:57, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Update after an IRC conversation with russavia: For replacing / and | and # with -, you can bookmark this URL:
javascript:(function(){var%20list%20=%20document.getElementsByClassName("newtitle");%20for(var%20i=0;i<list.length;i++)%20{%20list[i].value=list[i].value.replace(/[\|/#]/g,%20"-");%20}})();
Click on that bookmark and the filenames will change. darkweasel94 23:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Fixed in the tool now. --Magnus Manske (talk) 22:11, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Another symbol I see often and which also fails is : can we get that fixed too if poss. Cheers, russavia (talk) 07:46, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
I recently had to do that as well, and used the following JS in the JS console to do that (it replaces : with ,).
var list=document.getElementsByClassName("newtitle");for(var i=0;i<list.length;i++){list[i].value=list[i].value.replace(/:/g,",");}
As an explanation for non-programmers, these things always start with (you can copy this verbatim, you don't need to understand it):
var list=document.getElementsByClassName("newtitle");for(var i=0;i<list.length;i++){list[i].value=
They are then followed by what you want each filename to be. Something starting with list[i].value.replace( means: the original filename (list[i].value), where something is replaced. It is followed by a regular expression (i.e. a search term) enclosed in / and /g, a comma, and the string that the search term should be replaced with enclosed in quotation marks. Then you have );} (if you didn't use .replace(, and nothing else with an opening bracket, you have only ;}).
To build a regular expression, mostly you can simply write the search term, but behind the above link you'll find more complex constructs like the [\|/#] (which means: match | or / or #) I used above. Note how "|" needs to be escaped with a preceding backslash as a special character; that, too, is explained behind the link.
To make a bookmarklet from that, in my understanding you simply enclose your code in javascript:(function(){ and })();; a good browser (Firefox does it) should automatically replace the spaces in your code with %20 as needed in URLs. Hope this helps some people use F2C with more flexibility. darkweasel94 08:21, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Added ":" to the list. --Magnus Manske (talk) 13:04, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion for wdfist-tool

Hi. Just a small suggestion for wdfist. It would be useful if P41 (flag image) could be added as one of the available "add as..." options. Largely fills the same function as the existing logo option but for organisations/countries with flags instead. /Lokal_Profil 10:16, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Some red thing (8237300129).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Flickr2commons suggestion

I assume it was Flickr2commons used to upload File:Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes (9451902405).jpg. I'm working through hundreds of manual Flickr reviews and find lots of images with this somewhat useless "Transferred from Flickr" message. Please change the message to something more informative like "Transferred from Flickr via Flickr2commons" or "Transferred from Flickr via Flickr2commons from (insert Flickr link here)". This would help manual reviewers a lot since the images had already been checked vs license and blacklist so no need for us to check them again.--Denniss (talk) 09:11, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

That isn't a reliable way to check if Flickr2Commons or anything else was used. Using the API, you can upload files with any edit summary you like, including one that says it was transferred using Flickr2Commons even if it wasn't. Just saying. A reliable way to check that is to look in the upload log where you'll have a tag "OAuth Uploader". I don't oppose the suggestion, just don't see how it would be of much use. darkweasel94 09:19, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
I have changed the message to "Transferred from Flickr via Flickr2commons". I can't prevent others from uploading with the same comment, but at least all uploads via my tool will have this now. Other edits via OAuth have the tool/version as a tag (example), but uploads don't show this (yet). --Magnus Manske (talk) 17:24, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you have set up User:MiszaBot to archive your talk page. Unfortunately, the bot has stopped working, and given how its operator is inactive, it is unclear when/if this will fixed. problemes amb la carrega

Use of upload bot

Hello,

There are a number of images I wish to upload from Geograph.org, however would like to avoid the manual work. I was hoping you could help me here. Could your bot possibly be directed to do so, or can you point me in the right direction for setting up a similar system? Thank you,
