User:File Upload Bot (Edward)

This is a bot, it is used to upload Creative Commons photographs of Railway stations from Geograph. The bot is written in Perl, it uses Commons:File upload service/Script. The code to download the photographs from Geograph and build the file to feed to the upload script is also written in Perl.

Uploads of files are started by a human, it is not scheduled to run automatically.

This bot runs every few days indefinitely and is maintained by User:Edward.

This user account is a bot operated by Edward (talk). It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually.
