Remote learning
Remote or distributed working is more widespread than ever. And remote learning (also known as online or virtual learning) could be ideal for you, whether your company has gone fully remote or you have teams spread across different locations.
You can also rest assured you’ll still get the full value from your training and achieve the impact you’re looking for.
We’ve been running remote-learning programmes for over ten years, training over 6,000 people online and continually refining our approach in that time. We know that learning online is always going to be different from learning in person. And we’ve carefully designed our remote sessions with these differences in mind, to ensure you still get the same level of interactivity as in our face-to-face training.
‘Engaging, well paced, and the interactive nature ensured that despite being delivered remotely, we maintained focus and interest. Great course!’ – Claudia Van Den Heuvel, PricewaterhouseCoopers
We can train in any of our subject areas via remote learning, and your programme will include:
Unique pre-course analysis – As with all of our training, you’ll benefit from our unique pre-course writing analysis. This covers 15 different key aspects of writing and helps us tailor the training to the delegates’ precise writing needs, delivering long-lasting business benefits.
Use of the latest web technology – Rather than holding face-to-face sessions with the delegates and the trainer in the same room, we deliver the training remotely using the latest technology. All delegates need is a computer, a headset and stable internet access.
Interactive sessions – This is no passive webinar-style session. The course will be interactive, with live polling, breakout rooms and activities, shared whiteboards and other tools creating a highly engaging experience. We ensure a very collaborative environment for learning, with lots of discussion and sharing of experiences.
Coaching clinics – As a follow-up to the initial training, we can run coaching clinics online too. These optional one-to-one sessions help your team to reinforce their learning and transfer it into their daily work.
As with every project, we consult closely with you right from the start. We’ll learn what your current challenges are and help you diagnose the problems you’re having.
Once we’re clear about your objectives, our specialist learning consultants and trainers will design a remote-learning solution that meets your needs. As with our face-to-face training, the programme will be created around your specific requirements and incorporate exercises based on examples of your organisation’s documents. This guarantees the training is relevant and easy to apply.
We also know that technical issues can get in the way of the best remote-learning experience for you and the attendees. That’s why we’ve designed an onboarding process to fully support you and your team, and to catch any potential glitches before training begins.
Our Operations team can liaise with your IT team to confirm the correct specifications are in place. They’ll run test sessions for delegates to check that they’re comfortable accessing and using the software. A member of the team will even be online to welcome delegates to the online-training room and make sure everyone can join smoothly.
We are proud to be experts in training via all of the main platforms for virtual-classroom learning. So, whichever platform works best for your organisation, you can be confident that we’ll be able to deliver.
‘Seamless use of technology. Some of the best interaction I have experienced on an online course.’ – Harry Folkes, Talbot Underwriting Services
We’ve run training in our virtual classrooms for participants from both small businesses and multinational organisations.
Our recent global programmes include:
EY (Ernst & Young) – We delivered a Better communications course remotely over 19 sessions to delegates in the US, South Africa, India, Scandinavia, Russia, Australia and New Zealand.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) – We delivered our High-impact business writing training to staff spread across Europe, China, Singapore, Thailand, the US, Canada and Tokyo.
Nestlé – We ran a series of remote Effective writing for executives courses and follow-up coaching for senior staff based in the Philippines, Ukraine, Egypt, Ghana, Brazil and Singapore.
‘So engaging even though it was a virtual course. Not everyone would be able to keep us engaged at 10 o’clock at night via an online platform – I learned a lot!’ – Kerryn Ruxton, EY
